Commercial Gym Equipment Manufacturer Relocating North American Distribution Operations To Statesville; Plans to Invest $5 million and Create 100 Jobs

Technogym, an Italian-based manufacturer of commercial gym equipment, announced today that it will be moving its North American distribution operations to Statesville, N.C. from Pennsylvania. Technogym is a world leader in the fitness and wellness solutions sector, and has equipped more than 65,000 wellness centers and over 100,000 homes worldwide. An estimated 35 million people use Technogym products every day in over 100 countries worldwide.

The Statesville distribution center will service new and existing accounts in The U.S. and Canada and will be operated by Technogym’s North American logistics partner, Southern Cross Logistics, Inc. The company will be leasing an existing 105,000 square foot building in Bucks Industrial Park on the city’s northwest side. Initial plans call for warehousing, custom configuration and order fulfilment from the facility, with light assembly and packaging  operations potentially ramped up as North American sales grow. At build-out, the company is expected to invest up to $5 million and employ up to 100 at the facility.

Statesville Regional Development’s Executive Director Michael Smith commented on the announcement, “We are happy to welcome this new company to our community. This is another example of economic development being a team sport. We worked extensively with the Charlotte Regional Partnership on this project and were in competition with several other communities. We are pleased that Technogym ultimately decided to locate here and appreciate the work that the CRP continues to do to help bring new jobs and investment to North Carolina.”
